LAST DAY OF THE MONTH!!
So let’s have some fun stories and a few beautiful flowers to brighten our day!
Today I did the monthly shredding of personal paperwork. There seemed to be rather a lot. I looked at the dates – they were about 15 years old!
Apparently my husband found an old file that needed cleaning out!
Here is the first member of the pin head tribe invasion!! They are one-dimensional shadow like creatures who float along the ground! lol
Here are my african daisy and Mother’s Day roses blooming again.
Last of the bachelor buttons for this year.
Yesterday I went out to enjoy some time in my front garden. My neighbor across the street invited me over. We had a great visit and admired my flowers from her front porch.
In the afternoon, I went out back just as my next door neighbor arrived home. We had a lovely chat while we enjoyed our flowers and her tomatoes.
I accomplished nothing but some good memories and a chance to rest and relax. Perfect choice of how to spend my day!
Here is the last hollyhock enjoying the sunshine.
Lately I have been slightly more forgetful. After I complained about this again today to my husband he suggested it might be because of some changes to our diet. We have been working on less carbs and gluten. He said he read all about it in an on-line article and we would be fine in a few weeks.
I asked him why he didn’t tell me about this sooner. He said he forgot – he’s suffering from the same problem!
Thursday September 29th
When I find something good I love sharing it with other people.
These are high quality pages set for printing.
I like having something I can hand out to people. If I just tell them, they probably forget. This also lets kids take the information to their parents to explain why a membership on MM is a good thing! Not just about having FUN!! but learning how to care for our home, Earth.
(this is a very basic handout – I just reorganized the well presented information from the MM site so I could print it on paper)

BACK AGAIN WITH AWESOME NEWS
Here is it!! Finally, after getting lost in the mail for 2 weeks is the PROOF (1st copy ever):
Mrs. Munchkin checks out the package!
WOOT WOOT!! I scared poor Munchie away with my happy yelling!!
This is one of the most important days in my life! I have dreamed since I was 5 years old of writing a book and having it in my hands. And here it is!!
LOOK LOOK at the awesome cover by my good buddy Jacob!! I am so happy to share this great day with him!! Thank you!!
Saturday September 24th
No worries but I will be away for a few days.
Left this photo at full size. It makes a great background for your desktop. I love mine. Looking at the details made me realize every seed has a flower! See all the tiny blooms? No wonder the bees spend so long on them!
I have this very funny saying in a stitch kit. I thought it really suited me with my eye problems! (Kit is #6945 by Dimensions)
I LOVE this by Maxine! YES people!! THINK!! If you ever remember anything I say – remember to THINK and ask questions, and if necessary do your own research!!
I need to escape for a few days. See you later!

FIRST DAY OF FALL!!
First signs of fall and my tallest sunflowers on the left.
Cherry tree has not started changing color yet.
Wednesday September 21st
International Day of PEACE
for more information about this important day.
Every day I pray for peace. Not only an end to war and killing, but that everyone will find peace and contentment in their own souls so they will cease to hate.
Every day, somewhere on this planet, there is war. Every day hate tries to destroy the souls of good people trying to help others. Every day, someone ends their life by suicide because they cannot stand against hatred alone.
Be the person who refuses to walk away when someone else is tormented. If we stand together we can protect each other. Alone we may be lost forever.
Pray for courage. Pray for peace. Pray for those who hate us. Pray for those brave and dedicated men and women who protect us with their lives so we can be free to make better choices.
Tuesday September 20th
Yesterday we talked like Pirates and today is GIBBERISH DAY!!
I bet we can all do that really well.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
I think Lewis Carroll did gibberish the best but then jutina gratin neot me furbin!
Have an awesome day!
Monday September 19th
Here’s the official site so you can enjoy all the FUN!!
Here’s the basics from the site:
Ahoy! – “Hello!”
Avast! – Stop and give attention. It can be used in a sense of surprise, “Whoa! Get a load of that!” which today makes it more of a “Check it out” or “No way!” or “Get off!”
Aye! – “Why yes, I agree most heartily with everything you just said or did.”
Aye aye! – “I’ll get right on that sir, as soon as my break is over.”
Arrr! – This one is often confused with arrrgh, which is of course the sound you make when you sit on a belaying pin. “Arrr!” can mean, variously, “yes,” “I agree,” “I’m happy,” “I’m enjoying this beer,” “My team is going to win it all,” “I saw that television show, it sucked!” and “That was a clever remark you or I just made.” And those are just a few of the myriad possibilities of Arrr!
I bet this pirate has GREAT advice!!
My husband and I lived a very small and remote community for many years where Talk Like a Pirate Day was a major event and everyone dressed up and had a great time!
Here I am with my great plush buddy – Gus Gus!!
Give me a Ho Ho Ho and mug of hot mocha!
Let’s try that again! Ho ho HO!!
That’s better mates!!
Sometimes getting old is a good thing. I just bought enough timers to last the rest of my life! I never have to worry about having a timer again. Even have ones to match all the seasons!
These will be great for spring. I know someone in the family who loves strawberries! Better give her one of these.
Smiley faces for summertime. My daughter will definitely love one of these happy guys!
And these pumpkin timers make a perfect Thanksgiving present!
Perfect stocking stuffers.
Whoops!! Better go buy some more!! lol
FYI – I purchased all these timers on e-bay for a great price and free shipping!
Thursday September 15th
My Mom is safely home. We had a great visit and even remembered to take some photos.
I am so glad to be back with you!
So here’s some glads for you (sorry – I LOVE puns!)
A lovely magenta glad.
Here’s one of my awesome Hallowe’en glads. I love these.
Red glad in bud against the fence.
Same glad blooming with beautiful white insides.
Magenta glad in the sunflowers.
Close up of a pink glad.
Reminding everyone that my Mom is coming to visit 🙂
So you will not see much of me this week.
10 years since 9-11
10 years since people sworn to kill us or die in the attempt invaded America.

There are tragedies in life that are etched forever in our souls that we will never forget.
Saturday September 10th
While I am working in my garden people often stop and chat. Some of them ask me to come home with them and work on their garden! lol I am happy to offer information but I tell them to make their own gardens. It is a wonderful hobby and feeds the soul better than anything else I know.
Today my good neighbors asked me to take some photos for them so let’s see what’s happening next door:
Amazing green beans!
Gives you an idea of the size. We joked this would be a good ring for a “green person” although it would not last very long. (this is my neighbor’s hand not mine)
They also grow roses next door. These have amazing changing colors.
Friday September 9th
where or where was this 85F weather in the summer?
First of my giganteus sunflowers is blooming. Some of them finally reached 10 feet tall!
Sunshine and sunflowers always make me smile.
This is an Autumn Beauty sunflower.
Total perfection by the Master Artist of all creation.
Thursday September 8th
Let’s walk around and see what is blooming in the back yard!
This will take days and days to see everything!!
Here is the cosmos still blooming. I think this might be another plant you can grow to attract fairies. It has those ethereal leaves so different from most flowers.
Of course, my very ancient fennel always guides the fairies back to my garden in the spring.
Zinnias need at least 70F to get going. So mine took a long time this year with the cold spring. But they are enjoying this weather – 85F today.
Zinnias come in so many vibrant colors.
Love the bright colors!
Look at the cute yellow stars in the centers. They act as landing guides for the bees!
Wednesday September 7th
Clearing the Window
You can see, or in this case, not see, how much we can see, actually not see, out this window with all the foliage.
We also worried about the branches breaking the window during the winter wind storms.
Although there is a lot of glare on the window, we can now see the small feeder and the birds patiently waiting their turn, sitting in the hazelnut tree.
And we have a lovely clear view of the feeding table and the bird bath!
Tuesday September 6th
start of a short week!
WASHING DISHES SAVED LIVES!!
You may remember I really HATE washing dishes. Last week I left dishes soaking for as long as possible between washing. On the last sink-full I saw what looked like a campfire in our back alley. By the time I reached for the phone the fire had climbed almost to the top of the fence.
First time I have ever called 9-1-1 so it was very exciting. While I called, my husband rushed to the back of our yard with the garden hose and held the fire under control until the firemen took over. Lots of neighbors arrived as well to help. The townhouses are very close to the fence. A few more minutes and homes would have caught fire.
Amazingly, no one from the townhouses came out to see what was going on, even when our neighbor yelled “FIRE” at them over and over!!
So, for once, I am glad I was washing dishes and enjoying the view out my kitchen window.
Saturday September 3rd
Let’s see what’s still blooming in the front yard!
The dahlia I rescued at the end of the selling season is still covered with blooms and buds.
One of my “red” geraniums! Still lots more buds coming.
Another geranium labeled “red” in the plant store happily blooms in pink!
The zinnias took a long time to get going because of the cold spring.
My zinnia seeds never germinated. These started as plants from my local nursery.
These are very cute but I cannot what their proper name is! lol
Hydrangea blooming at the right time!
The Canterbury Bells were so happy they decided to bloom all over again. They should be finished by July at the latest but I guess they don’t care what the experts say! lol
Some of my “free” liatris (mix up on my plant order). About 60% of them bloomed. They were all supposed to be white.
About 10% of the ones that did bloom are purple!
Friday September 2nd
I cannot believe I am starting to put my garden to bed! Cleaned up my blog a little today. Enjoyed seeing the ‘before’ photos of my garden and the ‘after’ ones even more!
Thursday September 1st
I have always believed we should celebrate every day of the year. I already have so many projects I want to do that I have not collected a lot of information about holidays people celebrate – other than the usual ones we all know about.
Today I went out to celebrate finishing the first draft of my latest story: 2 Tonnes of SISU. It is the first story is a series called Errows of Spring! SPRING stands for Society for the Protection and Relocation of Intelligence in the Near Galaxies. Although this first story was brutally realistic at times, I am very glad to have written it down. Now the same characters are going to have an amazing Christmas adventure – as soon as I have a break!!
I dropped in the library and found this wonderfully perfect book!! It was WAY too heavy (0ver 1100 pages) to carry home but I hope to go back with Gramps and the car soon and borrow it. Of course I really want to buy a copy now but I shall try very hard to wait until after we are moved in the spring!!
