Scan and Stitch

Paintings Sunrise Up

Downloaded Microsoft Ice so I can scan and stitch my larger paintings and then print off copies for friends and family.

Taking me a while to get things to work the way I want – and have to make sure I get the tops and bottoms – but happy with the results and my friends are really pleased to be able to have my art decorating their walls.

Paintings Snow Beach

These two paintings are for my new friend in the small apartment building where we live now. She is the resident caretaker and really takes wonderful care of all the tenants and the gardens here.

And one more – a sunset in Hawaii.

Spring Pics

Spring 2013 April 11th Recycling

Every spring (and every other day of the year – lol) Bella sheds lots of fur. Here is one of my favorite recycling projects – the birds take Bella’s fur to line their nests.

Spring 2013 April 15th Bella

Bella waiting by the side of the road to meet and greet anyone walking past. She knows everyone!

These two pics are by my husband.

Cherry tree blooming outside solarium window 2013

Beautiful sunny day on the lake with the ornamental cherry tree in full bloom.

rhododendren 2013

Lovely rhododendron blooming on the property. We have over one acre on the lot to share with the other tenants. I can even have a plot if I want. At the moment, I am enjoying the garden and letting our wonderful resident caretaker do all the work!

Trilium blooming in the woods

Interesting tree form 2013

No idea what this little tree is – but the designs in the branches are amazing!

Recycling garden focal points

Part of the property is left as natural woodland so we have raccoons and deer walking through. Love this old wagon adding interest to a walk in the forest.

For the next few weeks, I will be sharing photos from my home, and my friend’s gardens, as well as several of my paintings. I am currently scanning my paintings and using a photo stitching program, so I can print out 8 by 10 inch copies for friends and family to enjoy.

Wishing you a wonderful spring!

My Friend’s Garden

Spring Flowers 2013

Now that I no longer have a garden, I really enjoy my walks through the neighborhood to look at other people’s flowers, and time spent in my friends’ gardens.

Early violas Spring 2013

Really enjoyed my visit with a friend this week. Her pots of flowers are very sheltered and already blooming beautifully.

I HATE having my picture taken

Buddy was NOT interested in having his photo taken! lol

My friend just lives a quick walk away – here is her view of the lake. We had a beautiful day together.

Happy April Fool’s Day!

April Fool the Teddy Bear

Hope you enjoyed some GREAT April Fool’s Day pranks and jokes.

Here is my April Fool – a beautiful and cheerful teddy bear!

Lady Bears and quilt

Here she is with her lady bear buddies on the top shelf of my plush toy shelves. The small bears are made from pom poms. I made the bunny from an old fur coat I bought at a Thrift Shop.

So far, I have made about 100 teddy bears – I only have a few at home because “everyone needs a friend to HUG and tell their troubles to”! I think everyone needs a teddy bear!

Spring 2013 on the lake

Beautiful sunshine on the lake outside my windows and NO more snow for this winter. Wonderful to get out and about to enjoy other people’s gardens full of snowdrops and crocuses.

Rose yellow single

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves:

Who am I to be brilliant?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Quote is from:

Our Deepest Fear

by Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

(I found this quote in an old sketch book. It still inspires me. I hope it helps you use your talents, and get through those bad days where nothing seems to work, and no one is supporting your efforts. In the end, we must believe in our own calling from God whether anyone else believes in us.)

Sharing my Talents

Sailing ship watercolor painting

My Buddy, Jacob, is setting up his first home and wanted some of my paintings to decorate his walls. So (with the magic of Skype) we chose two paintings he liked and I mailed them to him. It’s great to know my art work will be appreciated and not just sit in a box!!

Dad’s Loghouse

Log dollhouse Dad built for me

Here is the log dollhouse my Dad built for me when I was already a Granny – because he could still see the “little girl” inside me.

broken loghouse

Sadly, this precious house got broken in the last move, and I had nowhere to safely repair it. I had a few minutes of absolute panic when I thought I lost some of the pieces, but then I calmed down and looked at it like a puzzle and organized all the pieces correctly.

tools to repair doll sized loghouse

First, I organized all the tools to make the repairs. I used the wooden dowels to add support to the corners where the roof  rests.

wood pieces to repair dollhouse

After cutting the wood pieces to reinforce the loghouse, I painted them. Not an exact match.

Studio supervisor

Mrs. Munchkin supervised the repairs. I managed not to paint her! lol

reinforcing the door frame on dollhouse

You can see the painted pieces reinforcing the walls and the unpainted ones for the door frame. Have ordered some more wood to finish off the reinforcements so the house will (hopefully) never come apart again.

Dad's loghouse repaired

Here is the house all back together, waiting for further reinforcements. Lovely to have it out of the box and be able to enjoy it. Already have a friend eager to help me set up the furniture and other items Dad made for this wonderful house!

Rosie Chucklebeary's studio worktable

Although we downsized a lot moving here (2600 to 900 square feet), I made sure I had great studio space to work on things that are important to me – like repairing Dad’s house. My work table has a beautiful view of the lake and lots of natural light. Looking forward to lots more projects!

Hello and Welcome

Have been very busy enjoying the real world after all the time I spent at home while my husband was ill. So good to be out and about, visiting, going for lunch and dinner, and walking to the library and grocery store.

Of course, I’ve been missing all my good Buddies on-line, so will be trying very hard to find a good balance to enjoy time with YOU!!

Grannie Rosie's solarium

SO come on in – take a nice comfy old chair in the solarium and enjoy the view. Don’t mind if Mrs. Munchkin runs away – she’s not very social. She will curl up and take a nap in her bed until you leave.

View of the lake with Bafflehead ducks!

Here’s the view for today – still rather dark and gloomy but we can watch the BAFFLEHEAD ducks swimming across the lake.

Suzy Zoo wall decs

Here’s some very happy Suzy Zoo characters to help you feel welcome!

Mrs. Munchkin stays for tea.

And LOOK!! Mrs. Munchkin even stayed to have tea with us!

Grannie Rosie's stove

I’ll just go get the kettle on and we can have a good chat! How about some warm peanut butter cookies with extra peanuts and chocolate chips?

THANKS so much for dropping by and hope to see you again soon.
